XWA Upgrade

UPDATE: the REBCP will be back in few weeks. It need to be updated to the new DSUCP version


Finally! Thanks to Darksaber, to the development of the game conducted by JeremyFr, and to many talented authors, who have been working on this game for years, my "Rebels Craft Pack" is ready and available now.

What is REBCP ? It's an extension of the DSUCP, the wonderful patch created by Darksaber. You will need to install the DSUCP first!
The REBCP is not just a variant of an existing patch: it is also a common platform, to create new missions and battles to share on my site: I started, publishing the first three battles.



Soon other missions will follow, battles created by me, and by anyone who wants to share their adventures. Simply contact me, and I will help you publish the missions you have created.

For now, enjoy REBCP 1.0. Every feedback will be welcome.

One thing I don't understand: I see there is a list of added crafts with REBUCP.
Does it mean any of the ships from DSUCP risk being replaced?

Yes, the pack replaces several of the ucp additions. The slots are listed in the read me.

the replacements are based on the following considerations:
- REBCP is dedicated at the time from the creation of the Galactic Empire up to Endor. Therefore ships after Endor are excluded.
- REBCP is designed for planetary missions, therefore atmospheric vehicles are inserted
- one of the main topics of the REBCP is the Inquisition

I've finished my first playthrough. Will play it again and then post detailed feedback.

I feel like I missed the download link. Additionally, do any of the craft have separate installers? The only one I'm not crazy about loosing is the TIE Phantom as I fly it a lot in my own personal missions.

It's the top-left button on DTM's site; and he does indeed offer all of his craft separately.

I honestly like all the changes except the TIE Phantom, would it be simpler to install DSUCP then REBCP, then go back and install a single craft installer for the phantom? Does Darksaber have a standalone TIE Phantom installer that installs back into the same slot the phantom uses in DSUCP?

Also, great work BTW DTM. I probably should state that first before I start picking it apart.

The Phantom is available for download on the Imperial Fighters 1 page on Darksaber's website. I believe the default install slot is 33.

XWA has a limited number of slot. It's impossible to satisfy everyone. It's understandable you want to create your custom configuration!

My intention with the REBCP was not to replace the DSUCP, other XWA configurations or custom XWA versions: May I suggest you keep multiple versions of tha XwingAlliance folder, so that you are able to play with every XWA patches, including the new REBCP mission?

The trick of the multiple XWA versions is very useful and easy to handle: actually I use 5 different versions of XWA with different slot configuration, but they could be more...

I agree, the phantom is cool.
But i love the snowspeeder much more !!
I hope someday the snowspeeder replaces pinook fighter.
Anyway i'll try do do it by myself, i didn't test it yet, my pc is starting to die and have no much time for games now.

I agree with you, but the point is that the Pinook fighter is a craft included in the original version of X-Wing Alliance.

I was just reading... "one of the main topics of the REBCP is the Inquisition" which specifically got my attention. I just figured you'd appreciate this DTM.

That character, Inquisitor Asmodeus, is roughly based on Maarek Stele in that he starts as a TIE pilot and eventually is inducted into the Inquisitorius.

Anyway, at first I was just interested in the addition of the ships, but now I'm pretty motivated to give the missions a shot.

Oh man. Looks like REBCP overwrites the imperial hangar and concourse. No good for when I go back to playing Empire as usual.
