A-Wing was the RZ-1, and based off of the R-22 Spearhead. <P>Maybe something in the R-20 line?

The R-22 was I think a racing craft originally, modified into an interceptor.

the tie defender is not unbeatable, after all its more hard to control than the a-wing or the x-wing.
