Hello folks,

I just installed the TIE dynamic cockpits. I have to report that the cockpit point of view is so close I can't properly see the HUD and the sensors.

Even without the Dynamic Cockpit version of the TIE installed the point of view is too close, though you still have the standard HUD at your disposal.
This is how it looks like at 1920x1080 screen resolution.

Haakan, what resolution did you play at? If you played at 1920x1080 screen resolution like me, that's not one of the native resolutions for X-Wing Alliance.
I think 1920x1080 resolution was derived from 1152x864.
Have you tried to change the screen resolution?

FYI DTM is now looking into what can be done to fix the problem. So be patient and hopefully it can be fixed easily for all :)

1600x1200.

Yea I agree best way is to wait for DTM to find a fix. I mean, I followed what was suggested on the other thread but I did a manual fix...if I wanted to share this with my friends it'd be a problem.

It can be easily fixed I think. I did this:

On xwahacker-qt:

FOV=97,3, HUD scale=1,4@♦1600x1200
Fix graphical corruption like disappearing objects

On MXvTED:

Set TIE Fighter, Tie Interceptor, Tie Defender, Tie AdvancedX1, Tie BigGun, Tie Booster, Tie Warheads PoV to:

X=0
Y=7
Y=-2

Set the following PoVs:

Tie Bomber: X=66 Z=5 Y=81
Tie Avenger: X=0 Z=5 Y=84
Tie Bizaro: X=-124 Z=5 Y=2

But let's wait for DTM. I don't want a particular manual solution, I'd very much like to go multiplayer using this wonder.

Thanks to the help of Blue Max, we are setting up a smart fix for the FOV issue. A solution that will satisfy everyone. Please be patient. In the meantime, you can manually experience a change of FOV, using xwahacker, or in real time using the keys Ctrl+Alt+Shift + Right/Left Arrows.

If you use Xwahacher, good values could be from 92.3 to 97.2.
If you use the real time keys and would like to restore the original FOV, just delete the "FocalLength.cfg" file that will appear in your XWA directory.

Put the backup copy of your XWAlliance exe back on and don't use xwahacker.
If you're going to do that which I do NOT recommend. Do it after all ships are installed.
If you have the XWAUCP then you only need to install the ships marked NEW

I see "Super-class Star Destroyer v1.1" in your installer, Haakan, but in my Tech Library (XWACP v1.6) is " Executor-class Star Dreadnought".
Was it recently changed?

Executor-class Star Dreadnought is correct. Nothing has changed except for an Installer update.
I repeat if you have the XWAUCP or any Craft pack then you do NOT need to install this again.

Ok, but I had same issue with Dunari casino 2.0...had to manually edit the exe's version using a third party program called File Version Info Editor.

@Haakan

What did you actually change with the XwAHacker?

Also what are you installing XWA from Disc, Gog or Steam?

Before editing with XwAHacker have you installed either the xwaucpv1.6 or dsucpv2.6?

You only usually get that error message if you haven't applied the 2.02 patch, it doesn't apply if installing the gog, though I'm not sure if you get the message on a vanilla install of the steam version, but with Steam adding the DMR/DRM?? I don't think XwAHacker would work with there XwingAlliance.exe
