Untill recently, crisger and I discussed about fine-tuning those files and adding things Redux didn't include, then turn out to be a project. Here is my progress so far:
1. Adding missions which Redux didn't include such as T3M13-14, bonus and training missions.
2. Adding introduction cutscenes for each tour of duty which Redux didn’t include.
3. All mission pictures has been replaced via XWA Dat Customizer.
4. Traning, bonus and tour I missions testing done, tour II in progress, Fek'LeyrTarg is testing tour III.
We need help for testing Tour IV and V, there are 24 missions each. Main job is to rebalance them. Adding backdrops will be a plus, some hit-and-run missions will require adding another region, there you might want to construct an environment for rebel secret base. It really depend on how much time you have and how nice you want your missions look like.
Well, anyone want to help, please pm Fek'LeyrTarg or me. We will give you necessary files.

EtherShock wrote:Wait a minute, so does this mean there are two different versions of the project going on at the same time with different ways of going about this? I get that you want to replicate the missions as they are in X-wing, but then you mention rebalancing. I haven't actually played the Redux campaign, so I'm not sure how the mission balance is.
Does this mean you are no longer working on getting the music working FLT?
We plan on doing historical combat, bonus missions, and implementing cutscenes. I don't know if we can do a version of the proving grounds. I also intend on having someone do original mission pictures, but that's something that can wait. Some of these things seem like they overlap with Redux's goals. Am I right?
Would someone please clarify for me what's going on?

Yeah, copying over the files will override the disc, because the game checks for the files first on your hard drive and if they're there, it uses them instead going to the disc. Of course, if you've got an image mounted, it's essentially the same thing as having the CD, but this is an excellent suggestion. Now you don't have to have the whole image mounted, just what you need.
Hmm...if you guys are doing historical combat, we may have to decide on their placement, so we don't have to renumber things later on. I think they should come first. They are meant as training after all. Do you concur?

EtherShock wrote:No, it doesn't check the hard drive? Hmm, I always thought it did. Then again, I suppose mine's been patched ever since XWAUP released its first opt.

EtherShock wrote:Ohh OK, yeah, the briefing audio is located in the "talk" folder for XwingCD.
A skilled audio engineer could modify a person's natural voice to sound different with a few filters, probably definitely doable for Ackbar, but Dodonna might be a bit tougher or not possible. The briefings don't always have to be done by Ackbar or Dodonna. In the guide, they never actually reveal who briefs the pilots, so it could be anyone. The briefings I've been translating aren't identical to the ones from the original game though.

What do you think?
@EtherShock and Waylon: Do you think he should keep making trailers? This might help both projects to get more support.

Danfun64 wrote:thanks, i might make a release trailer for later, I already made tv style trailers based on 6 craft, and I cant wait to make a multiplayer or private beta of x-wing redux (not x-wing conversion) so i think im done for the moment, speeking of multiplayer...

EtherShock wrote:Btw, are you guys enhancing historical combat at all? Cause if you're not, I'd like to do that with the briefings and messages at least. I don't know the first thing about actual mission editing. That's DTM's department.
