So it's been years since I've played XWA and even longer since I've tried to create my own missions. Anyway, I got an Imperial themed mission in mind using the UCP. So I can't seem to find the mission anywhere outside of Allied and I need a little bit of help here.
Also, would anyone happen to have pilot data with the game complete so I can test the level?

Just to be clear, you're saying that you've saved the mission, but the game won't let you play it? (i.e the briefing room door won't open)
Also, if you have the UCP installed you can use the DSCUP.pilot file for testing missions.

...did not even know that was an option...
Yeah it's saved on Allied and shows up as missions i can edit, however it doesnt show up in the MISSIONS folder in either the game or the UCP.
It's been so long since I've used this I'm super rusty

I assume you edited the mission.lst file, correct?
If that's not it, I'd try saving the mission elsewhere(like your documents or something) and then move it manually into the mission folder.

Hey, is there anyway to make the ships have complex orders? Ie: Circle waypoints then attack enemies or, circle then hold position?

Just give the craft two different orders.
The easiest way to do that is the way I've done it in the attachment. The craft will circle the waypoint(s) and then hold position. I prefer to use the wait order, but you can use a variety of orders to simulate a holding position. (Just don't use hold steady, as that'll prevent the craft from doing anything following the Hold Steady order).

As the random stuff your wingmen shout?
Yeah, that's pretty much that. Replace the wav files in the pilot folders and then in Allied select the persona you edited.

Depends on how you want to go about it. If you want to use the ones that are already in XWA, just write the message, double click it and select whatever .wav you wish to choose.
If you want to add completely new ones, you'll need make a folder for them. So, if your mission is Battle 8 Mission 1, you'd go into WAVE, MissionVoice and make a folder called B8M1. Then you put your .wav files in there and do almost the same as above. Write the message, select it and then click the choose wav button (bottom left) and select your wav files.

So I downloaded the gog version of xwa to play without the.disc and installed dsucp again. I thought I was being smart by copying the mission folder and wave folder from the disk install. I copied the folders into the.gog version and I tried to boot up my custom mission in the gog version and the door is locked. I went into allied, loaded the mission from folder and.checked the mission list. The battle is there, everything is there but the mission won't play.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
EDIT: Fixed it. I had to manually edit the ship list
