Hi guys,

Been a long time follower of the XWAU project (although I've never really posted on here before) so I'd firstly like to say thank you for all the hard work the community has put in over the years. It's insane to think that a game initially released in 1999 is still receiving love and attention to this day.

I just have a quick question about the new landing gear feature included with 2.6 (which is absolutely awesome btw!). Was it intended for the s-foils to be closed and landing gears down as soon as you leave the hangar and whenever you exit hyperspace? I realise this is only a minor thing. I only ask because I've gone to engage a TIE soon after entering an area only to realise I'm not firing :D

Hello,
Redownload the latest hooks and I think it will be fine.

I re-downloaded the hooks but no luck. Still starting the mission and new areas with s-foils closed :(

There's nothing more to the hook setup application than running it is there? Or am I being stupid.

The setup application only downloads the hooks, it doesn’t install them. Extract the application in a folder, make sure the “Setups” and “Hooks” folder don’t exist, run the application, then go into the Setup folder. The updated versions of the hooks will be there, you have to manually copy them to the XWA folder.

You should regularly run the application—just remember to always delete the “Hooks” and “Setup” folders before running the setup application.

I apologise for yet another question regarding this, but I wanted to test out the different POV installation options for the X-Wing and I seem to have messed up the landing gear (i.e. it no longer works at all) and the s-foils have gone a bit... funky.

Is there a way I can reset this? I've re-downloaded the hooks but no joy.

To restore the X-Wing, you need to copy the original XWing.ini, XWing.opt, XWingCockpit.opt and XWingExterior.opt to the FlightModels directory. If you used the XWAUP/DSUCP installers, I think there's an option to make a backup copy of the original XWA (?), so you can restore the original copy and then run the installers again.
