I think his new version looks amazing. Lots of great content coming from talented youtubers would be awesome additions to XWA if we only had the ship slots.

No, if only "He didn't use such high resolution models and actually textured stuff in a XWA friendly way". Slots are irrelevant if the models are too HD to use even now.

But yes, yet another decent model. :(

Not his model directly, but one someone could de-res. That's what I meant. I imagine a lot of the OPT makers actually enjoy making them. I had fun doing just texture stuff.

I like the redesign, but I don't think it needed to be redesigned. It looked fine the way it was.

Well it surely didn‘t need to be redesigned but I agree with him that the original didn‘t really have a star warsy vibe to it. More like Star Citizen As he stated.

@ual102 well Nobody IS good by default, you always GET good at some point, through study and practice. :D

Star Wars universe has lots of different designs in the galaxy. If someone had designed any of the Trade Federation ships, or even the N1 independently as a fan art before the prequels were made, people would have probably said similar things. They don't fit in the universe.

At the time, no they really didn't. But they added to it but they still conformed to the WW2 era airplane inspired theme.

The original design does unfortunately scream star citizen aesthetic.

You make a fair point about there being many different designs, and yeah it's entirely plausible that there is something out there that fits the SC aesthetic, although I'd possibly argue that things in universe already do, but they're classed as airspeeders or landspeeders as we've thus far seen primarily, in my opinion.

That said, Porsche should have designed an updated version of the AV-21 line of landspeeders since a high performance sports car is kind of in their wheelhouse, not air/spacecraft.

I'd agree with this, but I would point out that the Porsche ship is an Incom design, but doesn't look like anything Incom.

Apart from the four engines. Which, to be fair doesn't scream incom to me either.

I thought Lucasfilm already used a Porsche design in Star Wars Resistance. Torra Doza's ship is modeled after Steve McQueen’s Porsche 917:

They just needed to do the same thing with the Porsche Taycan

Anyone else think the engine intakes on EC Henry's version resemble pod racer intakes?

I have to say, I prefer the Porche engines, although I have to agree it does look a bit like a Star Citizen ship - which is not to say it would look out of place in Star Wars.

Not very Incom, though.

What a terrible site, that ship is an homage not plagiarism.

LucasFilm even outright admitted it was. And was brought up again in the video showing the creation of the new Porsche design.
