Hello, I recently got back into playing XWA with the 1.6 update. After studying Allied a bit more in depth, I have recreated The Battle of Gall from Shadows of the Empire. You fly as Rogue Leader Luke Skywalker. I have included dialogue from both the book and comic book, so I was able to get 64 in-flight messages. It's a good old fashioned dog fight, with a twist at the end. Head on over to my site, it can be found under the downloads section. There is no mission briefing, but there is a mission description and commander briefing.

Also please let me know if you are having trouble downloading the file. I tried uploading it as a .rar file but I was told it wasn't a safe file, so its in a .zipx file. I have .rar files on my site from previous uploads, so not sure why it wouldn't work this time.
Just a side note, I was trying to get a "disabled" order to work in Allied. It wouldn't work, which is why the player has Ion Pulse Torpedoes. Not 100% accurate, but its the best alternative I could do.

Played it, had a fun time. Too bad I read the book and knew about the plot twist beforehand
Still, a well crafted mission. Would definitely recommend a download.

Awesome, thank you! Yeah my only concern was people who have read the book would know the twist lol. I still don't like using the ion torps, but no matter what I did, that "disabled" order just would not work. Even though there is no "real" objective, glad you enjoyed it.
I was considering doing voices for the mission. Too many times I've not paid attention to my surroundings and kept reading the in-flight messages, only to get blasted haha. There was a text-to-speech website I came across, and 2 voices sounded close to Luke and Wes, but once I saw you had to pay, that quickly axed that idea.

What I did in my campaigns is give messages a commlink sound. That way the player is notified when there is message, and won't have to keep checking for new messages to pop while frantically dogfighting.

That's a really good idea! I did a youtube search of sound FX and came across this one. At the 31 second mark, you can hear the in-flight message clip used in XWA multiplayer when another player sent a message, so I might even use that.

Jaeven, thank you again for that idea. I was able to download that video from youtube and convert the audio I wanted to .wav format. I have it uploaded on my website now, to use in any future missions I make. I used the in-flight audio that was used in XWA multiplayer when another player sent a message. I thought it would be a nice touch. I have it as a separate download, rather then including it in every download as it's not a mandatory file.
I gave you a shout-out in my update.
