Hello

Could I ask about the Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack v2.6.exe, is that still available anywhere, since Darksaber's website is down now?

thank you

As far as I know currently it isn't hosted anywhere. A lot of folks have the installer, but honestly without him being there to host and support it, it's questionable what will happen to it. He did remove it on his own before his website was removed, so not sure what to make of that.

Sorry that I cannot give you a more definitive answer about that right now.

I do have the installer, but not sure we should send it to you for now.

Your best luck would be to use the wayback machine on the internet archives, you might be able to get it through there

Even if you don't host anything again, I think it would be important to archive in the background, if you can.

I for one will be sorry to see him go. This is one of the first communities I was a part of growing up, and he was always such a big part of it.

This whole situation makes me feel sick, even just as a XWAU fan/user. I can't imagine how XWAU team feels about it.

Sorry, that wasn't helpful. I am a little worried about a lot of the DSUCP craft and whether the licenses for the work DS did will permit all of us to continue to distribute and use them now that he's gone/exiled.

Will strictly depends on DS.

Unfortunately, I don't see him coming back anytime soon. So for now we can see the dsucp as dead

It may not continue in its current form but I wouldn't call it dead by default.

Personal oppinion: Many of the craft in the DSUCP were made by other authors, so if you already have the DSUCP I see no reason not to keep using it.

As for the future, that's still being discussed. We have to rebuild a lot right now. Give us some time.

That's why I said "for now" ;-)

I'm sorry I missed whatever happened with DS so just to confirm if we find a copy of DSUCP 2.6 we shouldn't run it since it deletes our XWA folder? Which version is therefore safe to use, 2.5? I am also looking for the final safe version, if you or anyone can share it, please PM the link, thank you!

Just wanted to add the only reason I wanted it was to get a working version of Tie Fighter Total Conversion after my old PC died and I lost all my old mod files and I couldn't see an option to change the concourse / hangar to the Imperial Star Destroyer in XWAUP 1.6 installer, or is there another way of doing that without DSUCP? Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question I've been away too long :)

If you have a copy of the DSCUP 2.6 that should be safe to install. As far as we know there hasn't been a manipulated version of that. The only installers that were affected were the fixes that Darksaber had created for the XWAUCP.

Unfortunately the DSCUP is currently not available on any official site for download and since the installers are not digitally signed there's no way to verify if it's the original or not if you find it somewhere on the net.

What was great about Darksaber's pack hal was that the clone warships were involved. HJoier would like to know if there will be any updates for the hooks against that the CW ships like the normal dreadnought now use blue lasers.

will you also make subforums for the various editors? I found this very well explained on his site

From 2006? That's a looooooong time ago, the latest DSUCP was released a lot later than that. I think the latest version was from 2019...
