Anyone know how to create a ship that comes in when you hit Shift + R (Request Reinforcements) (I've tried Arrive when Player craft reinforced but that didn't work)
-Also, does anyone know how to order ships in AlliED to change S-Foil position (Open/Close)?
Thanks!

The first answer is to set the arrival condition of the reinforcement ship as "100 % of Team Rebel (or whatever the player team is) must be reinforced."
The second isn't possible.

Also some times allied is finnicky with making it work unless the player ship is at the top of the list

I think I normally use "100% of (player's FlightGroup)". In the end it's the same, as the AI doesn't call for it so as long as the target contains your craft, it should be fine.

Hey, do you also know how about making player craft the flight leader? I'm always stuck at "2"

I think the only way to do that is to make the flight two separate units with the player being the first unit in the list, and then the AI being the second (or however many more you want to use).
Both, of course, must have the same Global Unit number.

Thanks alot! You can still order them right? As long as they're in the same Global Unit?

Yeah, so long as they're the same GU they can be ordered around.

This also helps with keeping additional waves of your wingmen from arriving until you die, the only down side is the orders menu gets messed up and you have to revert to Shift+ ordering which is much less robust.

Actually, it didn't work. Even if as a player you're the only craft in your flight group, you still are forced to get "2" .. I wonder why it is that way.
Edit: On AlliED - It does show as Delta-1 (for example) but in the actual mission I'm Delta-2.

Did you make sure the player craft is first on the unit list?
It should basically look like this.
If that doesn't work, there must be another unit belonging to GU 1 (or whichever the player is assigned to).

Awesome... Now it works!
Hey, while I'm bugging you with questions. Do you know how to rotate backdrops? Maybe inclined on a 45 degree angle? I'm trying to get moons to get the same sunlight/shadow as some of the ringed gas giant backdrops.
And last question (I promise) - Do you know a way to incorporate or replace some of the old backdrops to the new backdrop selection? I liked some of the planets more on the old/vanilla version, and some of the suns.
Thanks!!

1. I have not found a way to rotate the backdrops. Alternatively you could edit your own planet.dat file and rotate the planets in question with an image editor.
2. Again, edit your planet, galaxy, nebula, backdrop dot dats. Or use the backdrop replacer hook, but it totally replaces all the images in a single file, so you wont be able to retain one image in the old planet.dat and keep a few others from a newer planet.dat, the hook replaces the whole file.

Or create a separate dat file with the old images to want to keep and use the hook to load it.ual002 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 12:28 pm2. Again, edit your planet, galaxy, nebula, backdrop dot dats. Exactly. At some point I plan to do a Kuat drive yards, ringed Kuat backdrop from afar and at low orbit, along with a low orbit Coruscant. I plan to test the feasibility of modifying the wrapback.dat to make it work. When I get to the point where I'm testing scales, I'm going to use the hook to swap back and forth between the two.

If you have XWACUP or DSUCP installed, you already have the hook installed.
To learn more about the hooks, you can read the hooks page on the wiki.

I've edited the wrapback.dat few years ago but it crashed to desktop so it could be unstable if you use very large images. I think I was testing 2048x2048 and 4096x4096 and using a different scaling ratio to keep images a bit sharper. Haven't fixed it/finish testing, but it "is" usable. Besides the hook, you can use AlliED to scale FG's referencing the .dat files. You can use decimals, not just whole integer values in the Backdrop's size field, i.e. 0.62 or 3.47 and so forth. You'll have to test positions via x,y,z axis and it takes time to setup a good view.

I downloaded GIMP, and have it running, but it wont let me open a .dat file. I'm a total noob at this. Do I have to somehow create an image and then convert it to .dat? how do you do that process? I'm a little lostBman wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 12:05 amI've edited the wrapback.dat few years ago but it crashed to desktop so it could be unstable if you use very large images. Ok, go here. Get JeremyaFr's DAT editor. https://github.com/JeremyAnsel/XwaDatEditor
Unpack you texture with it, then edit it in gimp and set it back to the dat editor. Make sure its saved as an indexed bmp/png
