Here's a question for people.
How attached are you to the original XWA Family room and all the stuff that comes with it?
For example all I did was "enhance" what was there already. I replaced things that looked dated like the swords, flag and jacket. I updated the the poster, probe droid, cologne, fan and blue pic.
Everything in the room can be changed in theory with work but would that be going too far for some of you? Would you miss some of the memories that XWA brought from the original storyline. Or would you prefer 2 options?
1 - An edited Family room as I have released with "enhanced" rewards and medals.
2 - A totally new room with "everything" changed. Then as you replay the game you can experience the new rewards. Or so you can just imagine as a Rebel Pilot you have had to redecorate and look at new items instead.
It would be great to have new rooms anyway as options. But I don't want to replace other stuff in the future if the majority say "ah I really miss that odd looking Key to the station"
I would be interested to know as it's great feedback
(Remember you will hurt my feelings )

1- Can't use. I can't draw at all so would need a clear reference image I can remove backgrounds from.Rookie_One1 wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 6:26 pm1 - Here a vibrosword from the Clone Wars cartoon :

2 - Sword from Star Wars galaxies (might need to change the logos on it thought )
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sta ... 0209034627
3 - Vibrosword from KOTOR : https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sta ... 1123191034
1a - But... how's this? https://p3d.in/model_data/snapshot/9Y0St
2 - Yes that's a better image that can be used. Still looks very standard sword like.
3 - Refer to answer 1. Some interesting choices though.
It doesn't have to be a sword though. The images can be anything. Refer back to the previous post.

1a look good
That said, I do think 2 with some modifications would be the best choice, and it has to be sword-like, it's a pair of swords

I do actually like this look of this. https://p3d.in/model_data/snapshot/9Y0St I'll look into it.
Will maybe need some small story description re-write.
I tell you before I got back into XWA my Star Wars knowledge was shot to hell lol

Antan's Jar'Kai Dueling Swords are supposed to serve for dueling purposes. And to be honest the sword you linked is more like a saw than a dueling sword.
I suggest you take a look at Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords mods to find a sword model suitable for the role of replacing the default one.
And they must be 2 swords. This means that you are forced to choose a 1-hand weapon and place 2 copies of it. You cannot choose a 2-handed weapon.

How about Uncle Anton's backstabbing head mounted on a pike?Ace Antilles wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 6:57 pmIt doesn't have to be a sword though. The images can be anything. Refer back to the previous post.

If I decide to change anything right now I will probably use that Vibrosword. That can be a 1 hand weapon can't it?Phoenix Leader wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 10:14 pmAntan's Jar'Kai Dueling Swords are supposed to serve for dueling purposes. I appreciate the feedback though but like I said sadly I don't have the time to search right now.
If people post a workable image and there's a consensus that it's preferred then I'll take that in hand.
But that brings me back to my previous post. It doesn't HAVE to be a sword at all! You are in the Option 1 choice that you would like to see it stay a sword but enhanced I assume?
Hey now this is a Disney franchise! lolkeiranhalcyon7 wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 10:16 pmHow about Uncle Anton's backstabbing head mounted on a pike?

I've taken these screenshots from this site: https://www.gamefront.com/games/knights ... ee-weapons
I would go with the second or the third one.
The first one looks more a 2-handed sword.

I vote the second one (starting counting from the left). It's the right compromise between range and maneuverability.
And it's a single handed sword.

I don't judge tactics. The Battle is the best and only Judge.

You can download the mod for KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords from here: https://www.gamefront.com/games/knights ... -sword-set
Don't know much about compatibility with X-Wing Alliance. They are .tga, .uti, .mdl and .mdx files.

Sadly not compatible. It has images which would be perfect but they are too small. Only 128x128. Not big enough to use for the large image. The screenshots could be used.Phoenix Leader wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 11:29 pmYou can download the mod for KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords from here: https://www.gamefront.com/games/knights ... -sword-set

I'm not sure I like that sword either. It still looks very normal. I much prefer something like this. Even the Axe could be used.

Right now if I change anything later I'm still leaning towards the Vibrosword. It's far more identifiable as Star Wars.
I might be able to knock off some variations though in a release. Technically I can have an installer choose but we'll see. This won't be done too soon atm.

Thank you but to be clear this is no voting right now. Yes your choices are appreciated but I don't want people to think this is a vote.Mark_Farlander wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 12:36 amStarting counting from the left I vote the second sword posted by Phoenix Leader (first screenshot) and the first one posted by Ace Antilles (second screenshot).
Also there are thousands of options out there but it does seem clear that the Buster Sword isn't popular.

To be fair, it's mostly that if we go by the aesthetic of Star Wars, a sword will probably be a bit plain when you think about it. Star Wars have a bit more utilitarians aesthetics than most space fantasy universes.

Well the cheese cutters are still better than the buster sword for the Star Wars universe

I mean, even back in '99 I thought inserting dueling swords into Star Wars was a bit hokey. I thought dueling blasters would have been more believable.

I prefer swords, make more sense
That said, the GFFA is so full of planets of hats, that chances are that you will have a planet or two obsessed with swords

I don’t see the presence of dueling swords in Star Wars as weird. After all, just look at the real-life USA: the land of hyper-tech drones and computerized warfare also has communities of people dedicated to collecting and restoring centuries-old firearms, not to mention the people whose hobby is forging medieval blades.
